Legal Experience

Intern, Floyd County District Attorney’s Office

  • Summer 2017 – Under the Third Year Practice Act, I was sworn in and allowed to handle trials in both superior and juvenile court, garnering experience in jury selection, opening, direct, and closing. In superior court I assisted in arraignments, probation revocations, and negotiated pleas. As co-counsel on a child molestation case, I questioned the victim on direct examination and delivered the closing. I assisted in probate court as well.
  • Summer 2016 – I assisted in trial preparation, including writing briefs, interviewing witnesses, questioning defendants, and reviewing and notating video evidence.
